Free Tips: Getting Started


1. Renew your energy  (Deep breathing, rest, exercise, stretching, yoga, time-out)

  -- Make a list of what and who gives you energy; and what and who drains your energy.

 --  Do more of what gives you energy, and backburner or stop anything that drains it.


2. Keep a notebook and list what you like in your job/life and what you don't.  This includes people, situations, and tasks.


3. Do something creative (take an art class, build a boat, dance, daydream, write, brainstorm ideas with friends/colleagues, go to a museum, film, listen to your favorite music, meditate, etc.).  You're more creative than you may think!


4. Take a risk!  (Can be a small risk, like taking a new route to a destination, or a larger risk, such as telling someone they’ve offended you, or speaking in public.)


5. Do something new.


6. Talk to someone who does something that you would like to do.  Seek their advice and names of other people you could contact to learn more.


7. Believe in yourself.
